Ana Luisa González Reyes has a B.A. in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Research in the Educational Sciences from the University of Guadalajara. Today, she is a Doctoral Candidate in the Behavioral Sciences, with a specialization in Neuroscience, and Associate Professor-Researcher at the University of Guadalajara. Her current academic interests center on processes of reading and writing in both children who are regular learners and those with learning disorders. The contributions of her academic work have focused on characterizations of reading and writing and their development, especially from a cultural perspective which holds that the orthographic system of the Spanish language has specific effects on learning in children and adults. Ms. González has ample teaching experience at the Undergraduate and Master’s levels, and has published a number of articles and book chapters in collaboration with colleagues at the Neuropsychology and Neurolinguistics Laboratory at the Instituto de Neurociencias (Neuroscience Institute).
